Welcome to transition to work!

Transition to Work is a program focused on helping you get ready for working life.

Job Centre Australia's Transition to Work Program is available for Year 12 students who are eligible for funding through Ageing, Disability and Home Care, Department of Human Services (ADHC). Whilst at school the Department of Education will perform an assessment to determine eligibility for Transition to Work funding.
Bridge
Transition to Work runs for two (2) years, once school is completed. We support our clients in gaining the skills required to transition into employment. Our program runs for 5 days a week from 9am-2pm, and consists of workshops, work site visits, work experience, practical activities, pre-vocational courses such as TAFE, as well as sporting and recreational activities.

Our focus is preparing our clients for work. Four (4) days a week are devoted to skills training such as hospitality, gardening, work skills, interview skills, resume writing, pre-employment skills, retail, computers, job search activities, independent living skills, budgeting, travel training, cooking, personal development, helping to obtain Learner’s Permit, nutrition, enhancing self esteem and much more.

Job Centre Australia understands the importance of recreation and socialising, therefore one day of the week is set aside as a fun day, enabling the group to spend time with their peers. For this reason, Friday’s activities involve sport and recreation. There are many varied activities for our clients to be involved in. Activities are decided upon by the clients, and we endeavour to keep costs minimal.
